55 INTERNATIONAL CHORAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

BARCELONA 6-12 JULY 2020

NOW OPEN TO ORCHESTRAS!

Dear friends,

We are happy to announce that registration is now open for the 55 International Choral Music Festival in Barcelona, which will take place from the 6th to the 12th of July 2020. And this year, for the first time, we open one workshop to orchestras!

More than 300 musicians, both from Catalonia and abroad, will gather for a week in the heart of Barcelona to share music and culture. We kindly ask that you forward this information to any orchestras who might be interested in participating.

This year’s Festival will have one workshop especially open to orchestras: Beethoven’s Mass in C Major, conducted by Jordi Casals (Catalonia-Austria). Together with singers from all over the world, the players will prepare this piece during the week and perform it in the closing concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana, one of the most important concert halls in Barcelona, and a jewel of Modernist architecture.

In addition to the workshops, the players will have much free time to visit and enjoy the wonderful city of Barcelona. They will also have the chance to perform one concert in the city, probably in Santa Maria del Pi, an emblematic Gothic church in the center of Barcelona.
